Becky had the idea to make our wedding favors something truly personal: we would make and bottle our own wine. Months before the wedding, we went to a winery and chose a strawberry merlot to make. We mixed the ingredients in a vat and let it age 10 weeks. We sampled the wine and when we were satisfied that it was exactly what we wanted, we began bottling. Two hours later, we had washed and sterilized each bottle by hand, filled the bottles with wine, corked them and heat-sealed on decorative tops which we had specially chosen. As a final step, we put each bottle into an organza bag. The strawberry merlot is best served chilled.

We printed everything ourselves (with the exception of the magnet and napkin). Here are samples of each.

We thought it would be especially touching for Neal's daughters-in-law, Traci and Molly, to sign our wedding license because they themselves had just married their husbands in the summer of the same year. This gesture seems to tie together the three Enrick marriages of 2008.

We felt coats of arms were in keeping with the castle-like venue of our wedding and added a bit of whimsy to an otherwise intimate and elegant affair.
